Mental Health First Aid Certification
The Mental Health First Aid Certification program helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help.
What You’ll Learn
- Identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Learn the risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems.
- Obtain the skills needed to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
- Gain valuable information about depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders.
- Strategies to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
- A 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or in crisis.
- Where to turn for help — professional, peer, and self-help resources.
- Shareable Certificate upon completion

Who Should Attend
Mental Health First Aid is a life skills course that is applicable to all individuals. We recommend everyone in your organization take this course to ensure your team has the tools to notice mental health challenges. At minimum, we recommend two representatives from your Human Resources / People Operations receive their MHFA certification.
